E. coli Boil Water Order

To Whom It May Concern:

I hereby certify that the Town of Waterville Valley conducted public notification activities in response to the Boil Water Order issued on June 9, 2026, following the detection of E. coli bacteria within the Waterville Valley Water System.

The following notification methods were utilized to ensure the notice was delivered in a manner reasonably calculated to reach all people served by the public water system:

Broadcast Media Notification
• A copy of the Boil Water Order was transmitted to WMUR-TV Channel 9 News via email on June 9, 2026, at 2:42 PM for public broadcast and dissemination.

Reverse 911 Notification
• A request for a Reverse 911 notification through the New Hampshire Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (NH HSEM) was submitted on June 9, 2026, at 1:39 PM.

Door-to-Door and Direct Delivery
• Hand delivery of the Boil Water Order was completed to all commercial properties served by the Waterville Valley Water System.
• Direct notification was completed to:

Waterville Valley Elementary School

Curious Cottage Preschool

Waterville Valley Academy

Waterville Valley Resort

All Hotels and Lodging facilities

All food service establishments and mercantile businesses.

• Hand delivery activities were completed on June 9, 2026, at 2:06 PM.

Electronic Community Notification
• A Genasys Protect community notification was distributed to all subscribers registered within the Waterville Valley notification system.
• The notification was sent via SMS text messaging and email to a total target audience of 617 recipients.
• Delivery reporting indicated:

53 successful SMS notifications

114 successful email notifications

Internet and Social Media Notification
• The Boil Water Order was posted on the Town of Waterville Valley official website.
• The notice was posted to the Town's official social media platforms for public distribution and sharing.

Additional Public Outreach
• Residents, businesses, visitors, property owners, and stakeholders were encouraged to share the notice with neighbors, tenants, guests, and other individuals who may not have received the notification directly.

Based upon the actions described above, the Town of Waterville Valley certifies that public notification was undertaken using multiple communication methods intended to reach all customers served by the Waterville Valley Water System in accordance with applicable New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services public notification requirements.
